Policing of Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium a success

The SAPS Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela is full of praise for the behaviour of thousands of soccer fans who attended the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium yesterday afternoon where he had deployed more than hundred members to police the event. No incident(s) were reported at the stadium during the match.

As the fans were coming and leaving the stadium, policing was a major priority that no soccer fans should be exposed to criminal activities. However lesser crimes which might have happened including the theft of cell phones and other valuables should be reported to the police at the earliest convenience.
