Missing man found dead, inquest opened

EASTERN CAPE – Centane Police have opened an inquest docket after a 27-year old man who was reported missing, was found dead. The 27-year-old man by the name of Zwelethu Njama was last seen on Saturday, 09 May 2020 at about 16h00, at Gaqa Locality, Nxaxo Village, Centane.
He was reported as a missing person. Centane Police assisted by East London Police Search and Rescue Unit along with the members of the community of Nxaxo Village searched for the missing person with negative results.
The deceased was found by a passer-by, floating in the river at Gaqa Locality, Nxaxo Village, Centane on Sunday 2020 at about 07h00 in the morning. The body of the deceased had no visible injuries and his cellphone was found with him.
