Police bust copper thief and drug dealer in Kimberley

NORTHERN CAPE – The Northern Cape Provincial Office Officers bust copper thief with three bags of copper weighing 172, 5 Kg. The officers were busy conducting crime prevention patrols on Cecil Sussman when they spotted a white Nissan Bakkie loaded with suspicious looking bags. The bakkie was pulled off the road and ordered to stop. Copper to the value of R12 212-00 was found stashed in three bags.
In unrelated incident, the members of the Northern Cape Tactical Response Team (TRT) K9 Unit and Crime Intelligence apprehended drug peddler with drugs including mandrax tablets, crystal meth and dagga. The arrest of the suspect came after the information was followed regarding a man who was suspected to be dealing in drugs in Florenville neighborhood.
Both suspects are expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 2020.
The Northern Cape Police Management applauded members for being vigilant by bringing criminals to book.
