Livestock recovered at Weenen

DURBAN: Last night, police officers from Weenen police were alerted by the members of the community about a bakkie transporting stolen livestock. Police proceeded to the area and the bakkie was spotted on the R74 highway to Greytown.
The men stopped the vehicle when they saw that police were onto them and fled into the bushes. Police found three cattle and three goats at the back of the bakkie. An investigation was conducted and it was discovered that the livestock was stolen from Gomba Reserve in Colenso. The bakkie was stolen from Inanda on 28 April 2020, during a business robbery at Umzinyathi area. Pietermaritzburg Stock Theft Unit were alerted about the incident and the search for the suspects is continuing.
