41-year-old to appear in court in connection with death of his brother
WESTERN CAPE – Dysselsdorp: A 41-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ court tomorrow following the death of his 46-year-old brother who succumbed to head injury following an altercation, last night, Saturday, 24 April 2021 at their home Baadjie Street, Dysselsdorp.
Preliminary investigation suggest that the two had a fight late last night whereby the suspect slapped the deceased in his face, causing him to fell down to the ground. It is alleged that his head hit a huge concrete object where after the deceased suffered some drowsiness. He apparently refused to go to the hospital to receive medical treatment and later went to bed.
Earlier today, Sunday, 25 April 202, at about 11:00 when they attempted to wake up the deceased, they realised that he had succumbed to injuries sustained to the head. The bedding was stained with blood he throw up during the night whilst coughing profusely during the night, according to witness reports.
The body was handed over to Forensic Pathology who will perform an autopsy during the week to determine the possible cause of death.
The brother of the deceased was subsequently arrested and charged with his murder. The 41-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Oudtshoorn magistrates’ court tomorrow, Monday, 26 April 2021 on mentioned charge.
