Police in Gauteng reaches out to community members of Douglasdale

PARKTOWN – In an overwhelming support to the SAPS’ effort to strengthen community relations and to fight crime, a large number of community members attended the “Coffee with A Cop” event held at the Bellairs Mall in Douglasdale yesterday, 11 March 2022.

Community members had an opportunity to engage in a conversation with members of the South African Police Service over a cup of coffee.

The SAPS members were joined by various stakeholders which included members of Gauteng Traffic, JMPD and representatives of the Department of Community Safety, City of Johannesburg (CoJ), City Power, Emergency Services GBV Brigades, Tracker, SANCA, Neighbourhood Watch, Reservists, Community Patrollers and the Community Police Forum (CPF).

Leading from the front, members of the South African Police Service showcased some of the various units such as the Search and Rescue Team, K9 Unit and Mounted Unit. The SAPS members also exhibited their skill and force.

SAPS Douglasdale and CPF would like to thank all the stakeholders for their efforts and generosity in making the event a success.
