Police launch manhunt for suspects who robbed two filling stations and fled with cash

WELKOM – Two filling stations were robbed of cash at gun point by three male suspects. Provincial Organized Crime Unit members are following up on all leads to trace the suspects.

On 26 March 2022, at about 21:15, a shift manager was serving customers at a filling station in Dagbreek, Welkom when three suspects approached her and threatened to open the kiosk. They demanded cash at gunpoint, cartons of cigarettes and both cash registers with cash inside were taken.

One of the suspects, who was armed with a firearm and pepper spray, was wearing a red Kappa tracksuit top with a light grey trouser. The second suspect was wearing grey pants, a black jacket and a black cap while the third suspect was wearing black pants, a green jacket with a red cap. All these men had Lesotho accent.

The second incident, on 26 March 2022, at about 20:20, at a filling station in Koppie Alleen Welkom, a shift manager was in the kiosk when three male suspects entered the business premises, the one with a firearm demanded the two cash registers with cash and demanded more money.

They also took the complainant’s Polo bag. Apparently it took three minutes and the suspects left the scene with the loot.

The three suspects in this incident fit the same description of the first incident according to the complainant.
