Police nets two men with dagga worth R330 000 in Douglas

Vigilant police in Douglas nabbed two adult males for dealing in dagga worth approximately R330 000.

On Friday 3 June 2022 at about 09:30 the police held a roadblock on the R357 near Douglas. The members spotted a vehicle turning abruptly onto a gravel road and ensued the suspects.

The grey Mercedes Benz was stopped and searched and police discovered five bags of dagga stashed in the boot. The dagga weighs about 66kg.

Police also confiscated the vehicle as it was allegedly utilized in the commission of crime.

The suspects should be appearing in the Douglas Magistrates Court soon on charges of dealing in dagga.

The Station Commander of Douglas SAPS, Lt Col Alfred Matantshane commended his members for their loyalty and diligence when performing their duties, as it resulted in this outstanding arrests.
