TZANEEN – Today members of SAPS Tzaneen, Communications Officer Sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu and the SAPS Young Civilians On Patrol paid a courtesy visit to Iketleng Old Age Home at Leretjeni village in Tzaneen policing area.

The elderly were addressed about the following:

Importance of reporting of gender-based violence and femicide incidents to the police.
Reporting abuse of children and grandchildren.
Safety at the SASSA pay points and carrying cash safely.
Pamphlets with safety tips focusing on breaking the silence on domestic violence and gender-based violence were also distributed.

Emergency numbers of the police, fire fighters and ambulance services were shared with the senior citizens.
