Unemployment Insurance Fund embarks on community outreach programme in Sandhills, 22 Jul

Western Cape Province to host UIF community outreach

The Department of Employment and Labour’s Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), will be embarking on a community outreach programme in Sandhills, De Doorns.

The UIF is a key business unit of the Department and its services directly impacts the livelihoods of the community in De Doorns. The outreach will be used to provide same-day service to all unemployed clients applying for UIF benefits.

A full basket of departmental services will also be rendered on the day inclusive of:

• COIDA – Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act – Enquires/ application / Employer Registration

• PES – Public Employment Services – Registration of work seekers on ESSA

• IES – Inspection and Enforcement Services – Attend to BCEA / LRA / Compliance Enquiries

• CCMA – Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)

UIF Western Cape head of Operations Siphokazi Qasana said “the community of De Doorns relies on the Department’s Satellite Office and the labour centre situated in Worcester to access services. Due to the influx of clients visiting the offices, we are extending our services in order to relieve them on the traveling costs.”

Clients are encouraged to bring along ID document/valid passport, UI- 19 form and salary schedule.
