Vigilance by members of SAPS Diepsloot lead to the apprehension of three suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms this weekend

Members of SAPS Diepsloot arrested three suspects in two separate incidents in Diepsloot over this weekend and recovered two unlicensed firearms with ammunition.

A 23-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday night, 18 March 2022 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition following a stop and search.

In another incident, members of SAPS Diepsloot arrested two 34-year-old suspects along Ingonyama Street Diepsloot Ext 2 earlier today, 20 March 2022. The SAPS members were reportedly out on a routine crime prevention patrol when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle with two occupants. A search led the members to recover an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
