The Department of Water and Sanitation in Western Cape invites members of media to its media tour on 27 June 2023 at the Berg River Dam near Franshoek.

During the media tour the media will be briefed on the following issues;

The latest water situation in the Western Cape following significant rains

Update on infrastructure given the devastation of the downpours

Water supply issues which could have been impacted by the floods

While DWS is happy with the dam level storages across the Western Cape, water users are reminded that most of the water from the winter rainfall, is stored, and used during the dry and hot summer months of the Western Cape. Water users are requested to continue to use water sparingly.
