DURBAN \u2013 On the morning of 6 June 2021, an information about a stolen vehicle that was being driven around Mondlo area was received by the Zululand Stock Theft Task Team.<\/P>
The police followed up information and they proceeded to Mathayeleni area in Mondlo C Section where a stolen vehicle was found. The preliminary investigation that was conducted by the police at the scene revealed that the vehicle was stolen at Piet Retief in Mpumalanga province. The vehicle was stolen with groceries on 5 June 2021 while parked at Piet Retief.<\/P>
Two suspects Melusi Zwane (37) and Vusumuzi Thulani Ngonyama (48) were placed under arrest after they were found in possession of a stolen vehicle. They were questioned about the grocery that was taken along with the vehicle. They pointed a room and some of the grocery was found in one of the suspect\u2019s house.<\/P>
Upon inspecting the vehicle, the police saw the goat\u2019s hair and the driver of the stolen vehicle was questioned about the goats. The investigation revealed that two goats were stolen in the Mondlo area and the same vehicle was used to transport the stolen goats. One goat was recovered by police and the other goat was sold and slaughtered during the funeral that was conducted in the area. Melusi Zwane was also charged for stock theft. The suspects appeared on 7 June 2021 before the Nquthu Magistrates\u2019 Court. They were both remanded in custody.<\/P>
