POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has today, 14 July 2021, joined the Premier of Limpopo Hon. Stanley Chupu Mathabatha with his Executive Council and the Local and District Municipal Mayors during a walk-about in the Dennilton policing area, Sekhukhune District. This as part of monitoring programme in the province amid the widespread violence that erupted in other provinces.
\nThe entourage visited the area to mitigate against any possible threats of violence or illegal protest action which were being witnessed elsewhere in the country. Although the Province is currently experiencing relative calm, unknown persons torched a truck and a bus earlier this week in the same policing precinct.
\nThe Premier interacted with the Taxi Associations, commuters, the shoppers, the shop owners and community members during a walk-about at the three malls around this area being, Moutse, Moteti and Motsia.
\nIn his address, the Premier applauded the communities in all the Districts of Limpopo for not taking part in the barbaric acts of looting sprees and vandalising properties that were seen in some parts of the country recently. He then urged everyone to make it their responsibility to work with the police to ensure the citizens of this province remain safe and the properties are protected.
\nAn integrated plan has been developed and members of the South African Police Service and other law enforcement agencies that include the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) have been deployed to the malls, shopping centres and the Central Business District (CBD), to intensify patrols in the primary and secondary routes.<\/p>\n
