PRETORIA, Nov 1 (NNN-SANEWS) \u2014 President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent messages of condolence to the Republic of India and the Federal Republic of Somalia following disasters that have led to the tragic deaths of scores of people in the two countries.
\nMore than 140 people perished In India following the collapse of a bridge in the state of Gujarat during Diwali festivities.
\nMeanwhile in Somalia, an explosion in the capital Mogadishu claimed the lives of about 100 people, with scores of others reported injured.
\n\u201cPresident Ramaphosa said the thoughts of the people of South Africa are with the Indian and Somali families that have lost their loved ones. President Ramaphosa wished all the injured speedy recoveries,\u201d the Presidency said in a statement.
\nEarlier, Ramaphosa has sent his heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of South Korea following the tragic loss of life in the capital, Seoul, during Halloween activities.
\nA stampede occurred in the nightlife district of Itaewon on Saturday, where more than 100 000 people are said to have gathered for Halloween parties in the area.
\nRamaphosa said the people of South Africa join the people of South Korea in mourning the lives lost in the tragic incident.
\n\u201cPresident Ramaphosa wished all those injured speedy recoveries,\u201d the President\u2019s Office said on Sunday.
\nRamaphosa recalled the excellent bilateral political, economic, trade and people-to-people relations between South Africa and South Korea.<\/p>\n
