POTCHEFSTROOM – A 50-year-old Captain Juan Oosthuizen was remanded in custody upon appearance before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 09 February 2023, on a charge of theft. He is expected to reappear at the same court on Wednesday, 15 February 2023, for a formal bail application.<\/P>
<\/P>
The Captain, attached to the Brits Visible Policing, was allegedly caught on Saturday afternoon, 04 February 2023, draining diesel out of the tank of a parked state vehicle. Consequent to investigation by the Provincial Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit (ACIU), the member was arrested on Wednesday, 08 February 2023.<\/P>

Meanwhile, the Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended the Provincial Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit members for putting behind bars unethical employees who tarnish the image of Service.<\/P>
